Brivo Reseller Dashboard

The Brivo Reseller Portal dashboard was underperforming, with limited engagement and unclear value to users. I led a focused redesign to understand why users weren’t engaging, identify key opportunities for improvement, and enhance usability within strict layout constraints. Although only the left side of the main container could be redesigned, the new dashboard increased interactions from hundreds to thousands of users.

Problem

To ground the redesign in user needs, I surveyed and interviewed resellers to understand their daily workflows and key metrics. Insights revealed the need for quick visibility into panel statuses, pricing updates, and device counts. Using these findings, I developed low-fidelity wireframes that visualized this information hierarchy and validated the concept with users to ensure alignment with their priorities.

Approach

Partnering with resellers and internal stakeholders, I facilitated collaborative workshops and brainstorming sessions to refine information architecture and prioritize dashboard content. Through iterative sketching and rapid prototyping, I defined the key layout and interaction patterns for a more intuitive and actionable dashboard experience.

User Testing

I conducted usability testing sessions where participants rated each dashboard element on clarity, relevance, and usefulness. Their feedback highlighted which metrics were most valuable for day-to-day operations, guiding refinements that simplified information presentation and strengthened visual hierarchy.

Iterate

Using the testing insights, I refined the design to improve data clarity and ease of scanning. The updated high-fidelity prototype was presented to internal teams and Brivo’s reseller advisory board for validation, confirming that the new dashboard met both user and business objectives.

Impact

  1. Increased dashboard engagement from ~200 to nearly 4,000 users, validating improved usability and value.

  2. Boosted report downloads, indicating stronger data engagement and decision-making support.

  3. Achieved an average user satisfaction rating of 4.3/5 for clarity and usefulness.
